How the fees are calculated

Etsy charges the 6.5% transaction fee and any regulatory operating fee on the full order amount: item price + shipping charged + gift wrap. Etsy Payments processing is charged on the total sale amount including tax and shipping; this calculator uses the order amount before any sales tax, so if you collect tax in your price, your processing fee will be slightly higher. The listing fee is $0.20 USD per listing for 4 months; set "sales per listing" to spread it across repeat sales of the same listing.

About this calculator

What fees does Etsy charge in 2026?

Every sale carries a $0.20 listing fee (per listing, lasting 4 months), a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and an Etsy Payments processing fee that depends on your bank account country (3% + $0.25 in the US). Sellers in some countries also pay a regulatory operating fee, and sales attributed to Offsite Ads carry a 12% or 15% fee.

Why does the country matter?

Payment processing rates and regulatory operating fees are set by the country of your bank account, not your buyer. A UK seller pays 4% + £0.20 processing plus a 0.48% regulatory fee; a US seller pays 3% + $0.25 and no regulatory fee. Picking the right country can change your margin by several points.

Should I offer free shipping?

Etsy charges its percentage fees on shipping you charge, so folding shipping into the item price does not dodge fees, but it does change the math slightly because every fee applies to the combined total either way. Run both versions here: once with a shipping charge, once with the shipping cost added to the price and shipping charged set to 0.
